With the shake of a hand, Paul Engler’s father nurtured an entrepreneurial spirit in his son, helping to launch a career that made Paul a world-renowned cattle feeder. Hear how the Stuart, Neb., native bought 100 head of cattle at age 12 without a penny to his name.
Engler hopes to encourage a similar entrepreneurial spirit with his extraordinary gift to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

I grew up in Bassett, Nebr as a kid and my parents took me to Stuart for Piano Lessons from the Catholic Sisters every week.
Paul Engler's testimony of his early years is one we can all applaud. My grandfather's ranch was 17 miles south of Atkinson and many of our family friends who were ranchers in that area of the Sandhills all can relate to the business ethics and risk taking we all grew up with in those days that Paul Engler so eloquently talks about.
Congratulations on the wonderful gift and the Strategic Plan for the use of the funds. Nebraska and the United States of America will benefit mightly from the vision GOD gave Paul Engler in this donation!
KUDOS!!!
